So...This Happened. 😳

We hosted a wedding the last weekend of August.

The night before, a storm rolled through.

Not exactly the kind of weather event you want the night before someone's wedding.

The next morning, our decorator arrived ready to start setting up the ceremony arbor.

Except...

A tree had fallen on it.

Yep.

A TREE.

The arbor had some damage, and another large tree needed to be trimmed before the event could move forward.

Cue the panic?

Not here.

Because one of the advantages of having an established venue team is that we already had a groundskeeper on site who could jump into action.

The tree needed trimming?

Handled.

The decorator needed to help?

They jumped in.

One problem down.

Except wedding days apparently like to keep things interesting.

Then Came the Water 💦

Inside the ballroom, which was already set up for the wedding, we discovered water coming into the building.

So now we had people working outside on the trees and arbor while another part of the team was inside making sure the ballroom was cleaned up and ready.

And because apparently that wasn't enough...

One of the AC units started acting up.

At this point, you might be thinking:

"Okay, but did the couple know?"

Nope.

And that's exactly how we wanted it.

The Plot Twist: It Was the General Manager's Son's Wedding

Here's where the story gets even better.

This wasn't just a random wedding.

It was our General Manager's son's wedding.

Normally, if there's a problem at the venue, she's one of the first people to know.

But this time?

She wasn't the General Manager.

She was Mom.

And our team had one very important job:

Keep Mom OUT of it. 😂

We didn't want her spending her son's wedding day worrying about trees, water, AC units, or an arbor.

So everyone did what they do best.

They handled it.

The groundskeeper worked on the tree.

The decorator jumped in.

The venue team handled the water.

The AC issue was addressed.

And the wedding kept moving forward.

Meanwhile, Mom was enjoying her son's wedding.

She had absolutely no idea what was happening behind the scenes.

Mission accomplished.

When you're shopping for a venue, it's easy to get caught up in the pretty stuff.

And trust us, we love the pretty stuff too.

The ballroom. ✨

The gardens. 🌿
The ceremony spaces. 🌸
The sunset photos. 📸

But here's something you should add to your wedding venue checklist:

"What happens when something goes wrong?"

Because something probably will.

That's not being negative.

That's being realistic.

A storm doesn't check your wedding timeline before showing up.

A tree doesn't care that you've spent months planning your ceremony.

An AC unit doesn't know that 200 guests are arriving in three hours.

Things happen.

The important part is who handles them.

Your Wedding Day Shouldn't Feel Like a Group Project

You already have enough going on.

You shouldn't have to text your decorator because something happened outside.

You shouldn't be calling the venue because there's water on the floor.

You shouldn't be tracking down someone to fix the AC.
